Ideals

“It's important to keep religion alive throughout our day and our lives. Maria High School is just the place to keep our faith and love for God strong.”
Candice Ortega '07

Choosing Maria means choosing to be a woman of faith, love, and justice.

Women of Faith Maria women are able to freely express their faith. They lead daily prayer and help the campus minister organize retreats and other religious activities that create a positive spiritual environment. Maria women put their faith into action by raising money for those less fortunate, giving blood, and sewing hats for the homeless, among many other activities.

Being a woman of faith means believing in God and yourself. Confidence is fostered in a place where everyone supports each other. Students are able to express opinions and be who they really are because we are an all-girls school.

Women of Love We embrace differences and encourage respect for each other. Every student brings a unique experience to our school creating a loving and unified community where diversity is honored. Students always talk about the family environment at Maria. It’s easy to be a family when you feel accepted for who you really are. Vanessa Garcia explains, “We are taught to honor our womanhood and be true to ourselves.”

Life long friendships are easily developed in a place where everyone is respected.

Women of Justice For over 90 years, Maria women have been standing up and using their voice to empower others. Maria students, teachers, and staff are involved in several health care, fair housing, and community development initiatives.
WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD.

Being a woman of justice means knowing the difference between right and wrong. At Maria, students are given the structure and discipline to develop their own sense of fairness. Maria women are able to focus on getting what they want out of life.
