The Maria High School Parents Club is proud to announce that they chose teacher Kim Dwyer (left) for the honor of Diamond of the Month and Vivian Acevedo as Mystic of the Month, for January. Winners are chosen based on nominations received from students for the Diamond Award and from faculty and staff for the Mystic Award. They are awarded with a certificate and a $25 prize. “Each one of these had double recommendations,” said Mrs. Mary Ann Pater, President of the Parents Club. “Both are extraordinary people who give of themselves freely.”
Ms. Dwyer teaches physical education, fitness, and health science. She is a Student Council moderator and is head coach of the softball team.
Mrs. Pater said, “Vivian was recommended by the principal [Ms. Margaret Hayes] two times. She represents the true Maria High School spirit, always giving always loving, and always being true.”
