Maria to Commemorate 100 Years With Centennial Snow Ball Gala

 Sister Immacula    Maria High School and its sponsors, the Sisters of St. Casimir, are hosting the 2012 Centennial Snow Ball Gala on Saturday, March 3, at the beautiful Esplanade Lakes Ballroom in Downers Grove. The evening of elegant dining and dancing, a silent auction and raffles, to commemorate the Centennial Anniversary of Maria High School and St. Casimir Academy, will begin at 6 p.m.  The gala will be emceed by Ana Belaval, Feature Reporter for WGN Morning News.  Gala co-chairs are Maria staff member Andrew Walsh and Carol Bynoe, member of the MHS Board of Directors.

     The 2012 Maria Kaupas Award will be presented at the Centennial Snow Ball to Sister M. Immacula Wendt, SSC, by the Maria High School Board of Directors. Current General Superior of the Sisters of St. Casimir and a graduate of Maria High School, Sister Immacula was selected as a member of the community who upholds and exemplifies the mission and values of Maria High School and who supports the work and mission of the Sisters of St. Casimir as inspired by their foundress, Mother Maria Kaupas. 

     An early bird raffle drawing to win $1,000 will take place at the Centennial Snow Ball for the Centennial Raffle, which will conclude on April 21, 2012, at the Centennial Celebration and All-School reunion, with three winning tickets being drawn for the First, Second and Third Place prizes of $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500. Each ticket purchased at $100 is entered in monthly early bird drawings, held on January 31, February 29, and March 30, until the Grand Prize drawing takes place at the All-School Reunion on April 21. 

    All proceeds from the Centennial Snow Ball Gala will help support unfunded scholarships throughout the year, as well as expenses not covered by tuition.
