                                                              Physical Education

Physical Education is a way to enable student growth and development physically, mentally, and socially in a safe environment. Activities are provided for students to have the opportunity to develop a variety of skills and maintain fitness for a lifetime. A variety of activities help students to be physically fit, develop positive attitudes, and have knowledge of health and fitness.

The classes that are offered at Maria High School are Physical Education I which is a class that focuses on skill development. Physical Education II is a health class. Physical Education III focuses on using the skills developed in Physical Education I and are put into game situations. Physical Education IV (Fitness) focuses on exercising the entire body. Students learn how to increase the heart rate through cardio respiratory endurance and weight lifting.
