CHARITY DAY
Charity Day is an annual Maria High School fun event to raise funds for needy causes. The Centennial Charity Day will be held on Friday, September 9, 2012. Maria High School advisories will provide games and food for students and staff who pay a nominal fee. The Maria community will have the opportunity to sample chocolate covered fruit, chicaronnes, cotton candy, sno-cones, cupcakes, fruit cups, and more. Students and staff will play Minute to Win It, Guitar Hero, Rock Band, Guess the Literary Character, Pictionary, and other fun games. AND there will be a special appearance of DJ K-Thorbs!
Students will pay $1 to wear their Centennial t-shirts.
Some past recipients of collected charity funds include Southwest Chicago PADS; the Great Strides Campaign of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundations; the San Pedro Youth Group in Nicaragua; Make-A-Wish Foundation; HELPSudan; Nssuka, Nigeria Dollars for Dreams; and a heart transplant for baby Jhaziel Cueval in Bolivia.
